Plant Health Care Technician

Tree Huggerz is seeking a Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician to diagnose and treat tree and shrub health issues, including pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. This role focuses on fertilization, spraying, trunk injections, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM), while also educating clients and maintaining detailed treatment records. The ideal candidate enjoys field work, understands plant health, and takes pride in doing things the right way.



Responsibilities include:
• Inspecting and diagnosing pests, diseases, and nutrient issues in trees and shrubs
• Applying treatments including fertilizers, pesticides, sprays, and injections in accordance with safety and environmental regulations
• Educating clients on plant health, treatment plans, and long-term care
• Maintaining accurate service records, reports, and product inventories
• Performing related arboricultural tasks such as pruning, root work, and assisting crews during slower seasons
• Operating, calibrating, and maintaining PHC equipment

Skills & Qualifications:
• Knowledge of tree and plant identification, pest and disease recognition, and IPM principles
• Pesticide Applicator License and/or ISA Certified Arborist preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and customer service
• Valid driver's license required.
